ANNUAL GIVING - 2011 Final Report:
As part of an extraordinary 2010-2011 Princeton Annual Giving campaign, the Class of 1979 once again distinguished itself in several meaningful ways.
- - We eclipsed $600,000 in total donations, the first time ever that a 32rd Reunion Class contributed achieved this milestone level of giving. Only two other non-major Reunion classes donated more than our class (the Classes of 1958 and 1962).
- - 535 classmates in total, or just shy of one out of every two of us, donated this year.
- - We now rank #8 of all reunion classes in total giving. Our class has donated an astounding $17.8 million since we graduated.
But, it's more than the numbers. Each of us, in our own way, continue to pave the way for those students who follow us to have a superior collegiate experience and to enable Princeton in so many ways to make a difference on a global scale. Thank you very much.
Overall, this year's campaign raised $50,010,045 - the second highest total in the history of Annual Giving - from 61.3% of all undergraduates. These unrestricted funds are critical to sustaining Princeton's commitment to excellence in teaching and research and to funding the financial needs of all students.
Thank you to Mimi Chen and Kim Withers-Brengle for leading the participation effort and to all of our classmates who gave this year.

For the 2011-2012 campaign, please contact Don Seitz or Rick Grove if you have any questions or as you consider a donation. You can easily contribute by phone (800.258.5421 or 609.258.3373 if outside the U.S) or online.
As you know, AG is a key element of the five-year Aspire campaign. Annual Giving provides the opportunity for everyone who cares about Princeton to participate in helping to meet the University's highest priorities on a regular basis. Contributions to AG provide unrestricted funds for many key strategic initiatives - including financial aid and support of many academic and innovative research programs - that might otherwise not attract funding on their own. Moreover, AG is a largely volunteer effort involving a large number of our classmates; as such, it embodies the spirit and sense of shared community unlike almost any other effort among '79ers.
